A whole house rather than two hotel rooms
For two couples or a family slipping away for a weekend, renting the whole house often costs less than two hotel rooms — and bears no comparison in comfort. You cook, you eat when you like, you play billiards until midnight.
Chablis is 180 km from Paris, around two hours on the A6 (Auxerre-Sud exit). Leave on Friday evening, head home late Sunday afternoon.
A two-night weekend in Chablis
- Friday evening — arrive, settle in, a quiet dinner at the house after a stop at the village delicatessen.
- Saturday morning — Chablis market, then a tasting in one of the village cellars — all within walking distance.
- Saturday afternoon — a loop through the grands crus above the Serein, or the Vinéa Passion wine museum.
- Saturday evening — a long table in the garden or beside the fire, then billiards.
- Sunday — Pontigny Abbey (15 km) or Noyers-sur-Serein (25 km) before setting off home.

Electricity and heating are charged by meter reading, tourist tax is €1.10 per person per day, and end-of-stay cleaning is optional (€80).
